Created as a concept for a formal sitting area for a client’s residence, the atmosphere of the space truly exudes the perfect balance between serenity and opulence.  Below, we look at each design element in detail.

Architectural Elements

• Double-height ceilings enhance the sense of openness and opulence.
• Massive black-framed windows allow for ample natural light, echoing modernist architecture while staying grounded in classic symmetry.
• Arched brass-framed mirrors embedded in built-in shelving on either side of the feature wall add an old-world charm and elegance.

Feature Wall

• A stunning bookmatched marble slab acts as the room’s focal point.
• The veining is symmetrical and strong, almost like an abstract artwork.
• Its placement between the shelving units gives the wall monumental impact.
• Below it sits a sleek, modern fireplace, minimal and recessive to allow the marble to shine.

Furnishings

     The seating arrangement consists of a:

• Rich navy blue velvet sofa (moody, glam)
• Ivory-toned modern sofa (neutral, calming)
• Black accent armchair (adds grounding)
• The furniture lines are clean and low-profile, with emphasis on material richness over ornate detailing.
• Centered is a round black stone coffee table with matte finish, echoing the dark tones in the marble and window frames.
